You've waited YEARS for this, and now it's almost here...Your Senior Year!! Class of 2020. You need senior pictures, but where do you even start, and what is the whole process going to look like? There are many options out there now, so how do you make sure you've chosen the right one?
A good first step would be to MAKE A LIST of prospective photographers/studios and their contact info. Ask friends, do an internet search, or check out the Chamber of Commerce.
Now that you have your list, check out their website, Facebook page, Instagram, etc to view their work and eliminate the photographers that don't match your style or taste. Once you have narrowed down your list, PICK UP THE PHONE and CALL the photographers that you are interested in possibly working with. See if you can meet with them in person. Ask questions to discover how the process would go if you decide to use them as a senior photographer, as each studio is different.
When a senior decides to check into Pix Along The Way, after the initial phone call, we set up a consultation. This is basically a time for the senior and their parents to come down to our studio and find out more about us. They can see and touch the various products that we offer and look over our prices and packages. Do we offer products that they desire - are they hoping for just a disc of the digitals so they can print themselves or are they planning to purchase wall art and wallets? At the same time, we can learn about them AS A PERSON. What is important to them? What activities are they involved in? What are their plans after high school? How can we tell THEIR story in their senior portraits?
After the consultation, the senior and their parents can take the information they received and make the best decision for their family.
So what happens if they choose us? What next? Where do they go from here?
In part 2, we will look at what happens after you select your senior photographer.
