Project Beauty
Project Beauty is a no make-up, no filters, no Photoshop event to focus on true beauty. Clinton's first Project Beauty was on May 8, 2021. If you wish to be notified of future Project Beauty photoshoots, fill out the form below.
In today's world of filters and Photoshopped images, girls (and even guys) are being sent the wrong message: You aren't enough the way God made you. This has led to depression, suicide, and eating disorders to become rampant among the youth. As a way to stand up against this, Thomas Nguyen started Project Beauty in 2017, and it has quickly spread across the nation and has now come to Clinton, Iowa. Our mission through Project Beauty is to showcase true beauty, the way God designed you to be. You don't need to be retouched to fit in. YOU ARE ENOUGH! Join the movement and show others that they are enough, too.

True beauty is being yourself. Accepting yourself and what God gave you. Being yourself and talking about depression can change the way others think of depression too. Maybe by being yourself you can help others who think they aren't good enough.

At first I was a little uncomfy when Wes was taking my picture, knowing I didn't have any mascara on. But once I saw some of the pictures and knew he was getting good angles, I felt more confident in myself.

Beauty is not wearing make-up or fancy clothes, or even what you look like on the outside. Beauty is what you look like on the inside, how God sees you. At dance recitals, it's fun to put on make-up and get my hair looking all pretty, but make-up is not a part of me. I know God does not think, "Oh, she is not wearing make-up today. I guess she is not as pretty as I thought." What makes me a lot of times feel beautiful is just me smiling. Clothes and make-up are not the REAL key to beauty.
